Could have interesting applications. Certainly if one wasn't forced into this particular shape.

"Marcus Tremonto simply cannot sustain his creativity and we at yatzer can’t help but follow his adventures. Yatzereaders have already enjoyed in the past several of his “lightworks”, finding out that he always has a special way to surprise us. This time is all about Carbon 451 lamp, his latest project that was originally showed at Firenze during Super Design exhibition. The responsible for the birth of the lamp is usual suspect, gallery owner and culture agitator Patrick Brillet that asked Tremonto to use his imagination in order to create a lamp out of carbon fiber. It seems that the designer was easily convinced to utilize the best of the material’s physical properties, its strength and lightness."
