you know what its like? Canada is like a date-able girl and Harper is that really annoying guy that keeps asking her out. Worse, she never really says no, so she stays sort-of friends with him ... not because she likes him really but because she knows he likes her. Harper is her safety date.

he's like the persistent type who really sort of annoys you, but not by doing anything in particular, so you'd look like a jerk if you snapped at him. but he just IS annoying! he rarely says the right thing, he's passive aggressive, and most remarkably he doesn't follow his own dreams but follows on the tails of others. And the girls, we never fully reject him and throw him away but always keep a trace of life alive, keep him hoping, just in case we need to use him for those lonely times when we need a date.

"OTTAWA - Prime Minister Stephen Harper has done an about-face and will attend the Copenhagen climate-change meeting next month.

A spokesman said Harper decided today to attend after the American and Chinese presidents announced that they will show up. The news comes a day after Harper said he would not go to Copenhagen.

The meeting to work on a new climate-change agreement runs Dec. 6-18, but it's not clear when Harper will attend.

Canada has come under strong criticism internationally for reneging on the Kyoto climate protocol and for refusing to sign on to a new deal limiting greenhouse gases unless developing nations are included. "
