WATCH IN ORDER and THE WHOLE THING (its not long)!
So Autotune has been around for a while, sprucing up all sorts of boring media videos.
This one is kind of funny, first watch the REAL interview, then the SONG.
Oh Antoine...
We gonna find you...

Do you remember these adds? They used to be in magazines and inserted into the local paper. I used to browse them and pick stuff I'd buy but never actually order anything. Seems like they will now be obsolete as the company has gone bankrupt. I completely forgot about them until I saw this article.

Hide and Seek, more like Hide in the US

A little ways back I posted a link about the Smithsonians new exhibit Hide and Seek, a show about artists specifically portrait artists portray sexuality and gender. Seems like the US "Right" is not too happy about it:
"One month on, his dream is in tatters. Last week, after a sustained attack by opponents, including Republican House Speaker John Boehner and the Catholic League, the Smithsonian withdrew from Hide/Seek a video by the artist David Wojnarowicz, Fire in My Belly, which includes a crucifix covered in ants, symbolising the suffering of people with Aids; Wojnarowicz died of the disease in 1992. Georgia congressman Jack Kingston, railing against the gallery's depictions of "male nudity" and "Ellen DeGeneres grabbing her breasts", is calling for a congressional review of the Smithsonian's funding. Katz, who was not consulted before the artwork was pulled, is livid: "When the Smithsonian starts bowing to its censors, it abrogates its charge as our national museum."
More at the Guardian.

Top 10 cultural trends of the decade.

CBC posted this video on a list of the 10 top cultural trends of the decade.
They are quite spot on, I think.
1. Reality TV
2. Viral Video
3. Celebrity gossip websites
4. iPod
5. Newpapers declining
6. Auto-tune
7. Twitter, Facebook
8. US cable dramas
9. Guitar hero, etc
10. Rise of "fake news" shows like Colbert, Jon Stewart
As a second thing, i'm posting the "where the hell is matt?" video. Which the cbc uses for the viral video post. I saw this a while back, but this version is more polished I think, or I just forgot about it. Drboy and I got all weepy watching it, especially when all the kids start dancing. I needed 3 kleenexes. We're saps.

earlier in the week people in Norway noticed strange lights in the night sky, swirly lights, blue lights...
made by who?
there were lots of ideas! including aliens.
but it looks like it may just have been russians.
