I am a Parisian Lady
"Une belle série intitulée “I am a Parisian Lady” mettant en images des portraits de femmes parisiennes, dans leur domicile : appartement ou atelier. Une mise en scène très variée, par le photographe français Baudouin sur son portfolio. Plus d’images dans la suite de l’article."

... and check out the work of Alex Prager; a style of work that combines sophistication and an understated sex-appeal that comes from the 1950s movie era. You can also appreciate that her pictures convey a fresh outlook on motion but with a vintage feel.
Check out the MoMa website for the some of her work and Bio:
She also made her first short film which is featured at the MoMA.

Contraband

"These images are from a set of 1,075 photographs — shot over five days last year for the book and exhibition, ‘‘Contraband’’ — of items detained or seized from passengers or express mail entering the United States from abroad at the New York airport. The miscellany of prohibited objects — from the everyday to the illegal to the just plain odd — attests to a growing worldwide traffic in counterfeit goods and natural exotica and offers a snapshot of the United States as seen through its illicit material needs and desires."

Lovely b/w photography
from the MoMA website
For Cartier-Bresson, to photograph was to live. As he said, “It is through living that we discover ourselves, at the same time as we discover the world around us.”

From Website
RED WALL GALLERY presents
LINEAGE - SOLO SERIES 2010
Artist: Magida El-Kassis
Date: March 5th ? March 16th, 2010
Vernissage: Friday March 5th, 2010, 17:00 - 20:00
Viewing Hours: Monday-Friday, 11:00-18:00, Saturday, 10:00-15:00, Sundays and late evenings by appointment or by chance.
An exhibition of a photographic typology documenting people of "pure bred" ethnicity in order to preserve the lineage and identity of humankind.
El-Kassis explores a personal perspective into the definition of lineage through these images. She envisions these photographs serving as proof for future generations of the existence of pure indigenous ethnic groups. As populations become more integrated, an aspect of identity becomes unrecognizable, so she has begun this typology in order to help preserve the ancestry and identity of humankind.

The shot that made paper girl weep this week...

We got to give big thanks to Vanity Fair this week for this amazing shot...
I love Julianne Moore (she is magnificient in A Single Man) but when you get to see a picture with BOTH Colin Firth and Tom Ford toguether... I mean... Let's be realistic here, the boys are the eye candy.
If only Matthew Goode was in there... I think i could die tommorrow, happy... ;)
On an Oscar note; I truly hope Mr Firth wins in best actor category... he is SUBLIME in the role of George Falconer.
